Company History

A well known and established business landmark since the spring of 1965 on the South Shore of Nova Scotia is the company of South Shore Ready Mix Limited with its head office near Bridgewater, N. S. The company manufactures and supplies the South Shore area with ready mix concrete, masonry block and split brick, interlocking concrete pavers, a variety of crushed rock and sands as well as retail sales of heavy truck parts and repair service.

Over the 40+ years South Shore Ready Mix has been serving the needs of the south shore of Nova Scotia, it has opened a Ready Mix plant in Chester, N. S. and three additional related company divisions, South Shore Sand & Gravel , South Shore Truck Centre - a Mack Truck Parts and Service Centre and South Shore Concrete Products
South Shore Ready Limited products and services can be found all through the south western part of Nova Scotia which allows customers to have quality products and services within their own local areas of business and residence. Raw materials are purchased within Nova Scotia for the company's products and local people are employed which allows for a better economic market place for the South Shore Area.

The company has been a major supplier for many local projects such as Michelin Canada Tire plant, Bowater Mersey Paper Company expansions, Highway 103 over passes and bridges, South Shore Regional Hospital, New Bridgewater Shopping Mall, schools and Homes for Special Care for the aged, just to name a few.
The company operates about 46 highway and off highway vehicles and employs approximately 65 people within its various operations.
